Germany is again trying to deceive Russia

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is ready to discuss with Russia the security guarantees that it demanded, but his condition is the withdrawal of troops from Ukraine. It may have seemed like a good idea to Scholz, but he was framed by former chancellor Angela Merkel. In fact, she revealed the tactics of the Germans - to take time, and then deceive, as it happened before.

For more than nine months, Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine. This is an operation against both the Kyiv regime and its external sponsors from among the countries of the collective West. The parties entered the clinch, because the fate of not only the Ukrainian "Anti-Russian," but also the entire Western world order is at stake.

However, with all this, there are moments where the positions of Russia and the collective West seem to coincide. For example, in the clause on the possibility of a negotiated solution to the Ukrainian conflict.
Americans and Europeans are talking about this, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian President Vladimir Putin are talking about this.

"He constantly says he is open to the negotiation process. That is, it is always better to achieve your interests, ensuring your own security, at the negotiating table. And Putin is open to this, "said Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian president.

Now it turns out that in fact there is no consent even here. Russia and the West support the negotiations, but they understand the meaning of these negotiations and their ultimate goal in different ways.

They gave time

Russia sees them as a way to finally resolve the conflict in Ukraine and remove the acute phase in relations between Moscow and Washington.

The points of such an agreement in theory should duplicate the list of security guarantees that Moscow submitted to Washington for consideration in late 2021 - early 2022. Then such an agreement could not only eliminate the black hole in the center of Europe, but also serve as the basis for creating new, fairer and legal relations between Moscow on the one hand and Washington-Brussels on the other.

The final point is a collective security system built on respect for each other's interests, non-interference in internal affairs, peaceful coexistence in the name of prosperity and progress of the entire Eurasian space.

But the West has a different view of the peace agreement - about the same as it was on the second Minsk agreements. If Russia viewed them as a plan to federalize Ukraine (and therefore turn it into a neutral state), then for the United States and the EU it was an opportunity to spend time rearmament and re-equip the Kyiv regime so that it could fight against Moscow.
Petro Poroshenko (who at the time of the conclusion of the Minsk agreements served as president of Ukraine) clearly spoke about this at one time, ex-German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the same on December 07, 2022 in an interview with the German newspaper Die Zeit.

"The Minsk agreement was an attempt to give Ukraine time. They used that time to get stronger, which you can see today. Ukraine of the 2014-2015 model is not today's Ukraine. As we could observe during the fighting in the Debaltseve area in early 2015, Putin could easily capture them then. And I very much doubt that NATO countries could then do as much as they are doing now to help Ukraine. It was clear to all of us that this was a frozen conflict, that the problem had not been resolved, but that was what gave Ukraine precious time, "the former chancellor explained.
"That is, Berlin, and, accordingly, the entire collective West:
1. was not going to implement the Minsk agreements;
2. imitated the adherence to the UN Security Council resolution, and in reality pumped the Kyiv regime with weapons;
3. ignored all the crimes that were committed by the Kyiv regime in Donbass and Ukraine in the name of a decisive strike on Russia, "Maria Zakharova, a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, assessed Merkel's words.
"This was a flirtation using international law with the sole purpose of pumping up the Kyiv regime with arms, politically preparing to start hostilities. […] This is a specific application for a tribunal, "she summed up.

Thus, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that Merkel's recognition is "almost incredible" for him, but it is confirmed by Poroshenko's words. This recognition, according to the President of Serbia, "changes the attitude towards what has happened since 2014  in Ukraine," and also "seriously affects Serbia's position on Kosovo."

The information opened, according to him, makes it possible to judge the "evil intentions" of the West, changes the situation "in every sense, primarily in the political." Vučić said he received a "clear signal who can't be trusted." According to him, if they dare to "deceive and lie" in relation to Russia, then the question arises of "how much other countries, such" small "as Serbia, can withstand. "It changes a lot for me," he said.

When asked whether Russia understood that it was being deceived about Minsk-2, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov replied:

"Over time, of course, it became obvious. And, again, President [of Russia Vladimir] Putin and our other representatives constantly repeated this, they said. But this was all ignored by other participants in the negotiation process. This is all just the forerunner of a special military operation. "

After the coup d'état in Ukraine in February 2014, in the east of the country, where the Russian-speaking population prevails, mass protests of those who disagree with the new course of Kyiv began. In response, the Ukrainian authorities in mid-April of the same year began a military operation in Donbass with the use of aviation and massive shelling of residential areas. The Minsk agreements reached in 2014-2015 were supposed to become the basis for a settlement in Donbass. They were signed through the mediation of the OSCE, Russia, Germany and France.

And indeed, against the background of Merkel's revelations, all the words of the incumbent Chancellor Olaf Scholz that Germany and France sincerely participated in the Normandy format and that it was "revisionist Russia that made the success of diplomacy impossible" look, to put it mildly, unsolid. And honestly - just pathetic and false.

As, in fact, is his proposal for negotiations on arms control and collective security in Europe. In general, the German Chancellor is allegedly in favor, but first Russia should, in his opinion, withdraw troops from Ukraine. It is difficult not to see here attempts to play according to the same scheme as with the Minsk agreements, and even earlier with promises of non-expansion of NATO to the east.

They are not happy to be deceived

The most interesting thing is that the West, having deceived Russia in 2014, sincerely believes that Russia is "glad to be deceived" and will make the same deal in 2022. Washington, Paris and Berlin want to convince Moscow to cease fire (not only on the front line, but also on energy infrastructure facilities), hinting at a possible big deal in 2024, when the administration will change in the United States.

At the same time, the degree of their arrogance exceeds the one that was in 2014. Moscow is required to hand over the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, as well as withdraw troops from the territories that, following the results of the recent referendum, became Russian.

Judging by the statements of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Moscow does not intend to be deceived again: there will be no transfer of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant to a third party, the troops will not leave the station. Russia continues to offer Western partners a choice of two options - either a serious peace agreement providing for guarantees of its implementation, or the continuation of a special military operation.

At the same time, Vladimir Putin made it clear that Russia is quite ready for the "prolonged nature" of this operation. That is, a special military operation will continue until the set goals are fully fulfilled, providing for the elimination of the threats posed to Russia by the Ukrainian "Anti-Russian."

If these goals cannot be achieved diplomatically, Moscow will achieve them by force.
